يعطي سجعان القزي الأولوية للحرية على الوحدة لأن ما ينقص الشرق هو كيان الحريات، يؤمن أن كل ثورة لا تحترم قيم الإنسان، وفي طليعتها الحرية والمساواة والتعددية، تسقط وإن استلمت الحكم، ويؤمن أن كل شعب يخشى من أن يقرر مصيره يفقد دوره في حصر إرث الشعوب.
ومن هذا المنطلق تجرأ سجعان القزي أن يقول للجماعات اللبنانية وللشعوب العربية: إن كان تغيير الأنظمة القائمة لا يكفي، فغيروا الثورات أيضاً... لتنتصر الشعوب.
