يهدف هذا الكتاب الى توصيف وتقييم انشطة الرقابة على الاداء المطبقة حاليا فى المكتبات الجامعية بغرض تحليل وتقييم هذه الانشطة وتحديد مدى فعاليتها فى تحقيق الاهداف الموجودة منها وذلك فى ضوء الاتجاهات والمبادئ العلمية لنظام الرقابة على الاداء وتحديد الصعوبات والمشاكل التى تواجة ادارة المكتبات بالنسبه للرقابة على الاداء وقياس اتجاهات المديرين والعاملين نحو النظم الحالية لتقييم الاداء فى المكتبات ومعرفة انسب الطرق التى يتعين على الادراة اتباعها فى تقيم اداء العاملين بالمكتبات واقتراح المقومات اللازمة لعملية تقييم الاداء واقتراح الحلول للمشكلات التى تعوق ذلك داخل المكتبات بتطوير اساليب الرقابة الذاتية على الاداء داخل المكتبات الجامعية بما يلائم طبيعة العمل بها وتغطى هذه الدراسة العاملين فى المكتبات الجامعية بالقاهرة الكبرى فى مختلف التخصصاتوالمستويات الوظيفية فيما عدا العاملين فى الوظائف الحرفية والعاملين بالخدمة المعاونه .
