من خلال ما نراه في هذا الزمن من أنّ فقدان العافية البدنيّة والإبتلاء بالأمراض بمختلف أنواعه يزداد ويكثر ففي هذه الحالة يبحث الإنسان الضعيف عن ملاذٍ يلوذُ به وركنٍ وثيقٍ يستندْ إليه ليُلقيَ في قلبه السكينةَ فيشعر بالشفاء والعافية حتى لو بقيَ بدنُه مريضاً ولا سبيلَ إلى ذلك إلا إيمانُه بربّه العظيم الذي يقوى به يقينْه ويزدادُ فيه تسليمُه فيرضى بقضائه تعالى ويسلّم لإرادته مفوضاً أمره إليه ومتوكلاً عليه حينئذٍ يبلسِمْ مرضَهُ وأسقامَهَ فكان كتاب "بَلْسَمُ المريض".
