عندما تمارس طقوس الإسلام على طريقة أن الإسلام سر خاص بينك وبين ربك، فأنت مسلم، وعندما تخلط الإسلام بالسياسة طمعاً فى مكاسب دنيوية ومادية رخيصة, فأنت متأسلم، أما عندما يتحول الإسلام عندك إلى وظيفة وأكل عيش فأنت إسلامجى، الدين بالنسبة لك مهنة لا أكثر ولا أقل. وليس معنى أنك تكون داعية أن تكون أتقى الناس وأكثر طاعة لله، الشيخ الشعراوى بجلالة قدره وقيمته وقامته كان يقول "قد أكون الأعلم لكنى لست الأتقى، وقد يكون من يسمعنى أقرب إلى الله منى".
هنا لا أقترب من الإسلامجية الذين أخذوا من الإسلام مهنة ووظيفة من باب الأفكار والتكوين العلمى والفقهى. ولكنى أحكى عما جرى بينى وبينهم فعلى امتداد ما يقرب من 16 عاماً هى عملى فى مهنة الصحافة. كان هؤلاء هدفاً واضحاً بالنسبة لى. كنت أعرف من البداية أن الدين لابد أن يكون خالصاً لوجه الله، وإذا ما تعكر بأغراض الدنيا فقل على الجميع السلام. ولذلك بدأت مبكراً جداً فى رصد ما يقولونه.. ثم تطورت المتابعة إلى ما يفعلونه. هم ليسوا الأطهر.. ولا الأنقى... هم بشر مثلنا لا يمكن أن نرفعهم إلى درجة ألا يحسبون على الإسلام. أفعالهم إذا كانت مشينة تشين الأمر كله، وهو ما لا نرضاه ولا نقبله، كل ما أحرص عليه هنا أن أقول ما جرى.. لن أخفى شيئاً رأيته. فأنا هنا لا أتحدث إلا لوجه الله فقط، لا أخشى عتاباً لا ولوماً.. لا تندهشوا فما جرى كان كثير منه مفزع.. وكثير منه مخجل.. ولا أدرى بأى وجه سوف يقابل هؤلاء ربهم.
