في هدوء وموضوعية يواجه هذا الكتاب دعوى حاد بها مدعوها عن سواء الصراط. حيث أدعوا أن المسلم إذ ارتد عن إسلامه فإن الردة لا تبيح دمه.. وراحوا يوغلون في إنكار حد الردة ، ويقولون إنه حد مزعوم لا أساس له من الدين، واستدلوا خطأ ببعض آيات القرآن الكريم وطعنوا في الاحاديث النبوية التى نصت على قتل المرتد إذا لم يتب. وحرفوا دلالات بعض الوقائع في عصر النبوة وفي عهد أبي بكر الصديق، كل ذلك من أجل الدفاع عن المجرمين الخارجين عن الإيمان بالله القوى العزيز. وقد رددنا دعواهم وأبطلنا شبهاتهم التى تذرعوا بها وأثبتنا بالادلة الشرعية القاطعة قولية وعملية أن المسلم إذا ارتد ولم يتب فحكم الله فيه هو القتل، وبينا أن لقتل المرتد ضوابط حكيمة، وأن قتل المرتد لا يصادر حرية الاعتقاد ثم اتبعنا هذه الدراسة بخمسة توضيحات لابد منه حسبة لوجه الله تعالى لا دفاعا عن احد ولا تحاملا على آخر والله يقول الحق وهو يهدى السبيل.
