ولقد أثر عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قوله: "انا أعرب العرب ولدتني قريش ونشأت في بني ساعدة فأني يأتيني اللحن" ، وجاء عن أبي بكر رضي الله عنه قوله "لئن أقرأ فأسقط أحب إلى من أن أقرأ فألحن"... ولقد كانت اللغة العربية وما زالت موضع عناية العلماء على مر الأزمان وتتابع القرون، لأنها لغة القرآن الكريم، قال تعالى "إنا أنزلناه قرآناً عربياً لعلكم تعقلون".
