ظاهرة شروق الشمس (أو تعامدها)، مرتين فقط في العام على ثلاث فقط من تماثيل الآلهة الأربعة داخل غرفة قدس الأقداس (ومنهم تمثال الملك رمسيس الثاني) بمعبد رمسيس الثاني (معبد أبو سمبل الكبير) في جنوب محافظة أسوان، تعد واحدة من أعجب الظواهر الفلكية التي صنعها البشر عبر التاريخ، وتلقى اهتمام ومتابعة ألاف من العلماء والباحثين وملايين الهواه حول العالم. معبد أبو سمبل هذا هو أكبر معبد منحوت في الصخر في العالم، ويعتبر آية في العمارة والهندسة القديمة. فقد نحت في جبل صخري على الضفة الغربية للنيل في موضع غاية في الجمال منذ 33 قرنا مضت. لكن بعد عدة قرون من إنشاءه أتى عليه الإهمال وأدركه النسيان، وغطته الرمال وظل منسيا قرابة 24 قرنا من الزمان، حتى أعيد اكتشافه حديثا (1817م). تناولنا في هذا الكتاب كيف تحدث هذه الظاهرة والمغزى منها وتاريخ اكتشافها، وقصة تشييد المعبد ونقله وإنقاذه بعيدا عن مياه بحيرة ناصر التي تكونت بعد إنشاء السد العالي 1960م، والمحافظة عليه بمساعدة منظمة اليونيسكو. أيضا تحدثنا عن الملك "رمسيس الثاني" مُشيد هذه الأُعُجوبة وأشهر ملوك مصر الفرعونية قاطبة. وزودنا الكتاب بـ21 مراجعا علميا استندنا إليها، وأيضا لمن يرغب في مزيد من القراءة والمعلومات. أيضا زينا الكتاب بعدد 40 صور فوتوغرافية (بعضها أرشيفية من القرن الماضي والذي سبقه) لتوضيح تلك الأماكن الأثرية وقصتها الطريفة، وأيضا صورا لمن شاركوا في كشف تلك المعجزة ومن ساهموا في الحفاظ عليها ونقل المعبدين، مع لمحات عن اهم مساهماتهم. كذا ضمنا الكتاب ملحوظات المؤلف والذي شرف بحضور تلك الاحتفالية الخالدة، وأيضا تم تصويب بعض المعلومات التاريخية والتي كثيرا ما تواترت خطأ عن تلك الظاهرة مثل من أكتشفها في العصر الحديث ومناسبة حدوثها، وأضفنا نظريات جديدة عن تفسير تلك الظاهرة، وأيضا تفنيد تهم رمسيس الثاني بأنه فرعون الخروج، بما كان لدينا من مراجع مثبتة واكتشافات وأبحاث جديدة. كما لم يفوتنا وضع دليل مصغر ومحدث لكيفية السفر والوصول لمدينة أبو سمبل السياحية وزيارة المعبدين. والكتاب في طبعته الثانية (الإليكترونية) هذه يحوي أكثر من 35 ألف كلمة، موزعة على سبعة أبواب، و22 فصلا ممتعا، مع تزويدها بروابط أفلام فيديو لاهم الأحداث لتلك الظاهرة وإنقاذ المعبد.
