هذا الكتاب صدر منذ أكثر من مائة عام .. وكان النواة الأولى لفكرة الدولة اليهودية .. كتاب ووثيقة على قدر كبير من الأهمية للعرب قبل اليهود.. فلقد نفذ اليهود مافيه من أفكار ووسائل وإنتهوا إلى إقامة دولتهم القوية، ولكننا نحن العرب ما زلنا فى حاجة إلى ما يوقظنا حتى لا نخسر الجولات الاتية كما خسرنا السابقة. وفى هذا الكتاب نطلع على أفكار (هرتسل) الذى دونها فى الصفحات .. فكراُ وتخطيطاً. فهو لم يقصر كتابه على الشكل النظرى بل جعل التطبيق جنباً إلى جنب معه. فناقش فيه كافة النقاط التى تحتاج إلى توضيح لإقامة وطن قومى لليهود .. فتحدث فى المسألة اليهودية فكرياً وعقائدياً، ألحقها بجانب إقتصادي مفصل يضمن قيام الفكرة وإستمرارها.. أيضا تحدث فى كيفية الهجرة والرحيل وتخطيط المدن، وأضاف إلى هذا الدستور والقوانين والجيش، وفى عدة سنوات أقاموا وطنهم... فمع هذا الكتاب نعرف الأفكار التى قامت عليها الدولة اليهودية وكيف أقام اليهود دولة قوية من لا شئ..
- وضع هذا الكتاب عام 1895، وكأن الأساس فى إنشاء دولة إسرائيل عام 1948، اى بعد ثلاثة وخمسين عاماً فقط من تاليفه. - وبعد مائة عام من تأليفه صدرت هذه الترجمة العربية للكتاب لأول مرة عام 1994 فى طبعتها الأولى فى القاهرة. - ولقيت الترجمة ترحيباً كبيراً فى مصر والعالم العربي. - وفي عام 1967 صرح الجنرال موشى ديان وزير الدفاع الإسرائيل بان العرب لا يقرأون، وإذا قرأوا لا يصلون إلى الصفحات الأخيرة!!! - وهذا الكتاب وثيقة هامة فى تاريخ العالم العربي. فهل يثبت العقل العربي أنه يقرأ، ثم يصل إلى الصفحات الأخيرة؟؟ أم يحاتج إلى مائة عام أخرى لكى يصل إليها؟؟ - وقد ترجمه عالم فاضل ومفكر اهتم بتاريخ البوسنة والهرسك والمسلمين فى الفلبين وموضوعات جديدة تماماً على التأليف العربي، وكتب التقديم أ.د عادل غنيم مؤرخ القضية الفلسطينيةن وهو دراسة بالغة الأهمية تتكامل مع هذا الكتاب بعد مائة سنة من تأليفه.
