" ... وسط أغنية شبقية كانت ترددها البنات علت فجأة دقات الطبلة. دقات راقصة سرت في أجسادها الصبايا.. واندفعت مديحة إلى وسط الحلية مسحوبة بقوة سحرية. ربطت ايشارب على خصرها النحيل، وفكت ضفائر شعرها الطويل الذي راح يتطاير مع ايقاعات الطبول وتموجات جسدها . كانت ترقص في نعومة وانسياب.. قم عندما اشتد الايقاع يتجاوب جسدها بكل عنقوانه. هدأت دقات الطبول، وعلى ايقاع بطئ بدأت مديحة ارتجال رقصة كانها تنويعات على الكمان. مستخدمة ليونة جسدها مما أبهر الحاضرين فيسود الصمت بين الجميع. في ركن من القاعة تجلس امراءة غريبة تردى السواد وثمة حلق فضى يخترق فتحة أنفسها ووشم أخطر أسفل فمها. قالت الغريبة" الله يحفظك لشبابك يا بنيتى! لما انتى حامل وبترقصي كدا .. كيف يكون رقصك لو مكنتيش حامل!... حافطي يا بنتي على اللى ف بطنك! صمتت دقات الطبلة وتهاوت مديحة على الأرض وصرخت أمها.
