كما أنه أهداها إلى أديب نوبل "نجيب محفوظ" نجده متأثرا فيها بذات الأديب ورواياته. هذه هى قصص " حسين عبد الجواد" جاءت مطعمة بلمحات من أحلام نجيب محفوظ وكتاباته. فنجد العنوان "من دفتر الأحلام" .. وأيضا القصص في مضمونها تقترب كثيرا من شكل الأحلام.. ليس هذا فقط وإنما أيضا هناك إستعانة بشخصيات محفوظية مثل "سعيد مهران" بطل رواية "اللص والكلاب". ومع هذه المرجعيات وانطلاقا منها قدم لنا المؤلف قصصا لها رؤية خاصة به وكذلك أسلوب يميزه ولا ينخفض به إلى التقليد.. وكما أنه إستعان بنموذج أدبي يحتذى .. نجح في الحفاظ على هويته الأدبية وقدم لنا مجموعته القصصية النابعة منه " من دفتر الأحلام" التى قدم فيها أكثر من خمسة وخمسون قصة قصيرة استعانت بالخيال لتصف الواقع بدقة... وإستخدمت الرموز لتشير إلى ما تريد أن تقول.
أرى طائرا أخضر اللون ، وله رأس أحمر وعنق أصفر جميل، أمسك بساقية فيبدأ بالطيران، أجذبه ناحيتى فيندفع نحو عنان السماء، ومع استمرار ضرب أجنحته في الهواء، يروح حجمه يزداد حتى يستطيع التحليق بعيدا عن الأرض، وأنا ممسك بساقية.
ونصل إلى مدينة جميلة فيها حديقة غناء، وأجد جمعا من الناس يلعبون الورق وقد تحلقوا حول مائدة خضراء وأمام كل واحد منهم كومة عملات من الذهب الخالص.
