"جوليان" رجل أعمال ناجح، وغير متزوج. يقوم بزيارة لشقيقته، ويتولى رعاية أبنائها الأربعة الصغار؛ لعدم وجود والدهم الذي يقوم برحلة عمل ولاضطراره إلى القيام ببعض المهام العاجلة.
والأطفال الأربعة عبارة عن شياطين صغار. يلاقي الخال الأمرين في السيطرة عليهم. تحضر إلى البيت مندوبة مبيعات لمكانس كهربائية شفاطة، وهي في الحقيقة تعمل ممثلة في ملهى ليلي وهي "ديبورا" وهي شابة مرحة، وجريئة، وغريبة التصرفات.
يلهو أكبر الأبناء بأن يضع أصفاداً حقيقيا-أهداها له خال والدتهما-في يدي "جوليان" و"ديبورا" ويغلقها، ويكتشف الجميع أن مفتاح الأصفاد مفقود ويعرفون بعد ذلك أن الرضيع-وهو أصغر الأبناء-قد ابتلعه-تجري أحداث مثيرة ومضحكة ومحرجة تتخللها مغامرة يدبرها الخال الأكبر "شارلي" الذي كان يعمل ثلاثين سنة مفتش تحريات بالشرطة.
