يتناول المؤلف في كتابه هذا موضوع الاعتماد المستندى و مسؤولية البنك عن محض المستندات، عارضاَ للأحكام العامة للاعتماد المستندى فى حيث نشأته، و تعريفه ووظائفه، و مراحل فتحه، و مصادره القانونية، وانواعه، و مدى تأثره بالتجارة عبر الوسائط الإلكترونية. كما عرض لفحص المستندات بادئاً ببيان المدة التى يجب إجراء الفحص مع ضرورة مراعان ان ينصب الفحص على المستندات وحدها و التأكد من سلامتها الذاتية و اكتمالها و كفايتها لأداء وظيفتها، و المدة التي يجب ان تقدم خلالها و بيان دور البنوك المتداخلة في عملية الفحص ودور خطاب الاعتماد فيه سواء في صيغته من حيث الكمال و الدقة و الإيجاز و الوضوح... وقد قسم المؤلف بحث إلى اربع ابواب ر ئيسية و خاتمة جاءت على النحو التالي: الباب الاول: تناول فيه الاجكام العامة للاعتماد المستندي ومدى تأثره بالتجارة عبر الوسائط الإلكترونية، الباب الثاني: عرض فيه اساسيات الفحص و الإعداد له و اثرهما في تفادي الاخطاء المرتبة للمسؤولية. الباب الثالث: عالج فيه الفحص التفصيلي للمستندات في الاعتماد المستندي التقليدي و الإلكتروني و مسؤولية البنك عنه، الباب الرابع: و خصصه لدعوى المسؤولية عن الفحص، اما الخاتمة فعرض فيها للنتائج المستخلصة فى البحث.
