يشمل الدين الإسلامي أوجه الحياة جميعها منها الإجتماعى والعقائدى والإقتصادي وما إلى ذلك.. وقد جاءت الشريعة الإسلامية مجددة المبادئ و القواعد فى الجانب الإقتصادي وكذلك متميزة بالمرونة والقدرة على إستيعاب الجديد فى حالة عدم مخالفته، من الأنشطة الإقتصادية الجديدة التى إحتلت جانباً هاماً وإنتشرت فى العالم الإسلامى "الأسهم" فى مختلف الشركات، ونظراً لمشاركة عامة المسلمين فى هذه الأنشطة مع عدم وعيهم بالمحرم منها والمباح، فقد وضع الشيخ صالح بن مقبل العصيمى هذا الكتاب متناولاً فيه أسهم الشركان التى أنشئت لغرض حلال ومباح ولكنها تتعامل بالمحرم أحياناً ومدى مشروعيتها وإباحة التعامل معها. وقد بدأ دراسته بقسم يبين فيه فتنة الدنيا والتخدير من الكسب الحرام وتحريم الربا، ثم بين ماهية السهم وخصائصة واقوال العلماء فى شركات المساهمة بين الرفض والإباحة وذكر مصادر تدارس حججها وأدلتها، وقد جمع الكتاب بين الجانب الدينى والجانب العلمى فلم يغفل أحدهما.
