تهتم هذه الموسوعة الجغرافية بالمياه فى الخليج العربي وبشكل أكثر تخصصاً فى سلطنة عمان.. حيث تبدأ الدراسة بشكل متسع يضم الخليج العربي ثم يأخذ هذا الشكل فى الضيق حتى إلى ما يتعلق بالموارد المائية العمانية. فنجد فى الفصل الأول يتناول حديثاً عاماً عن الماء مبيناً تركيبه الكيميائى وأهميتة فى الحياة والتى يمكن تلخيصها فى الآية القرىنية الكريمة.. "وجعلنا من الماء كل شئ حي" صدق الله العظيم.. بالإضافة إلى معلومات قمية عن وجوده فى الكون والكرة الأرضية. أما الفصل الثانى فهو عن الوضع المائى فى دول الخليج العربي ثم الثالث فى مصارد المياة فى هذه الدول، والرابع و الخاسم فى جهود الدول لتنمية وإدارة الثروة المائية. بدءاً من الفصل السادس يبدأ التعامل مع "سلطة عمان" كنموذج لدراسة الأزمة المائية شارحاص الوضع المائى فيها و مصادر الماية والأخطار والمشاكل التى تواجهها، جهود السطلنة لحماية هذه الثروة المائية وترشيد إستهلاكها .. وأخيراً يتعرض لمشكلة التصحر. تأتى هذه الموسوعة مصحوبة بالخرائط والصور و الأشكال التوضيحية التى لاغنى فى الدراسات الجغرافية.
