يعمل إتحاد جمعيات خريجي معهد العلوم الإجتماعية في الجامعة اللبنانية على مواكبة كل ما يحتاجه الخريج في حياته الأكاديمية والمهنية.
لذا، فإنه يجهد في عقد مؤتمر سنوي، تكون أهدافه ومخرجاته في خدمة الخريج وبالتالي خدمة الشباب والوطن.
وهذا مؤتمر: "خريجي معهد العلوم الإجتماعية وسوق العمل" بأهميته، يسعى إلى أن يعرِّف المجتمع اللبناني ومؤسساته الرسمية والخاصة على معهد العلوم الإجتماعية وخريجيه ومؤهلاتهم، والدور الريادي الذي يمكن أن يمارسوه في دراسة المجتمع، وظواهره، وفي إيجاد الحلول المناسبة لمعالجتها.
كما يهدف المؤتمر إلى ربط الخريج بسوق العمل من خلال التواصل مع المؤسسات التي يحتاج لهذا الإختصاص، مما يساعد على سد جزئي لظاهرة البطالة المتفشية ضمن فئة الخريجين.
ويهدف المؤتمر أيضاً إلى حشد مؤسسات القطاعين العام والخاص الذين يحتاجون إلى خريج معهد العلوم الإجتماعية في مؤسساتهم كطاقة فاعلة تساعد على تحسين جودة العمل عليهم لديهم، على قاعدة "الشخص المناسب في المكان المناسب".
وقد انتهى المؤتمر إلى وضع إستراتيجية مستقبلية لخريجي معهد العلوم الإجتماعية تساعد في تأمين العمل لهم، وتنسجم مع إختصاصاتهم، وتساهم في تعزيز العلاقة بين الفروع (أساتذة وطلاباً وموظفين) في مختلف المناطق للخروج بمزيد من الترابط الجامعي والوطني.
