أحمد رامي شاعر مصري شهير من أصل شركسي فجده لأبيه الأميرلاي (العميد) الشركسي حسين بك الكريتلي من رجال الجيش البارزين.
ولد في 1892 م، كرّمه الرئيس المصري السابق أنور السادات حيث منحة درجة الماجستير الفخرية في الفنون.فهو شاعر الشباب.
ولد في حي السيدة زينب والتحق رامي بمدرسة المعلمين وتخرج منها عام 1914 وسافر الي باريس في بعثه لتعلم نظم الوثائق والمكتبات و اللغات الشرقية ثم حصل علي شهادة في المكتبات من جامعة السوربون و نال أحمد رامي تقديرا عربيا وعالميا واسع النطاق حيث كرمته مصر عندما منحته جائزة الدولة التقديرية عام 1967 كما حصل علي وسام الفنون و العلوم كما نال أيضا وسام الكفاءة الفكرية من الطبقة الممتازة حيث قام الملك الحسن الثاني ملك المغرب بتسليمه الوسام بنفسه كما انتخب رئيس لجمعية المؤلفين وحصل علي ميدالية الخلود الفني من أكاديمية الفنون الفرنسية وقبل وفاته ببضع سنوات كرمه الرئيس المصري حينها أنور السادات حيث منحة درجة الدكتوراه الفخرية في الفنون.
لكن أحمد رامي أصيب بحالة من اكتئاب الى الاكتئاب الشديد بعد وفاة محبوبته الملهمة الأساسية له أم كلثوم ورفض أن يكتب أي شي بعدها حتي رحل في 5/6/1981.
