اقتربت الذكرى المئوية لصدور وعد بلفور المشئوم، ومن هنا يأتي أحد أسباب إعادة طباعة هذا الكتاب بعد 121 سنة على طباعته، في وقت لا يزال الفلسطينيون والعرب في حاجة للمزيد من الدراسات المتعمقة لتاريخ الصهاينة، بدلا من إعادة استهلاك دراسات أنتجت من قبل. ولا نبالغ إن قلنا بأن هذا الكتاب هو الأول في بابه ونوعه، الذي أخرجته المطبعة المصرية للمكتبة المصرية والعربية في سنة 1893 م، في وقت لم يكن المشروع الصهيوني قد تبلور تماما تجاه فلسطين. ومع هذا كان تعريب الكتاب يعكس هاجسا مبكرا لدى قطاع من المصريين آنذاك، وعيا بخطورة الصهاينة/ اليهود. ومن هنا لا يبدو غريبا أن تصدر طبعتان من الكتاب في عام واحد ثم تتوقف طباعته بعدها، ربما بسبب ما تضمنه، خاصة وقد كان من المستحيل أن يقبل يهود / صهاينة مصر –وأعوانهم- بما ورد فيه. أرجو أن يكون العدد الثاني من سلسلة ((أوائل المطبوعات المصرية)) من الكتب التي تستحق أن تقرأ في تلك اللحظة المهمة بل العصيبة من لحظات التاريخ الفلسطيني والعربي.
