إن البشريَّة تتفاخر بلُغاتها، وتتباهى بمفردات ألفاظها؛ لما في ذلك من حفظ تراثها وبقاء تاريخها.
إلاَّ أن اللُّغة العربية هي فخر اللُّغات، ولهجاتها أفصح اللَّهجات؛ فبيانها يسحر الألباب، وشعرها يطرب الأشباح والأرواح، وبلاغتها تأسر القلوب، حتى قال عليه الصلاة والسلام: "إنَّ من البيان لسحراً، وإنَّ من الشعر لحِكَماً"؛ لأن حسن البيان يسحر الألباب بحلاوة الطلاوة وعذوبة الجرس وبالغ الأثر.
فقرن البيان بالسِّحر فصاحة منه صلى الله عليه سلم، وجعل من الشعر حكماً؛ لأن السحر يخيل للإنسان ما لم يكن؛ للطافته وحيلة صاحبه، وكذلك البيان يتصور فيه الحق بصورة الباطل، والباطل بصورة الحق؛ لرقة معناه، ولطف موقعه، وأبلغ البيانين عند العلماء الشعر بلا مدافعة.
