يطرح المفكر السوداني الشيخ النيّل أبو قرون في هذا الكتاب رؤية جديدة تماماً للمكان الذي عاش فيه أنبياء بني إسرائيل، والجغرافيا التي شهدت تحركاتهم وهجراتهم الطوعية والقسرية، كما يؤشر بشكل جليّ على الأسباب التي قادت إلى ذلك ويخلص إلى أنّ مملكة كوش التي امتدت من أسوان إلى هضبة أثيوبيا وحوض النيل هي التي شهدت على الأحداث الكبرى في مسيرتهم التاريخية، وأنّهم قطعوا نهر النيل وليس البحر الأحمر هرباً من بطش فرعون، وأنّ أرض الميعاد المقدسة تقع في تلك الجغرافيا أيضاً، ولا علاقة لها بفلسطين، كما يوضح أيضاً أنّ الأنبياء من بعد موسى وهارون قد عاشوا هناك من أمثال داوود وسليمان وصولاً إلى المسيح عليهم السلام.
قد يبدو ما في هذا الكتاب صادماً للرؤية التقليدية المتوارثة للقصص القرآني، لكن الباحث والشيخ المجدد أبو قرون يواصل مشروعه بهدوء ومثابرة ودون تردد، والذي عبّر عنه بالتفصيل في كتبه السابقة ومن بينها: مراجعات في الفكر الإسلامي، نبي من بلاد السودان، الإيمان بمحمّد، شفاء الذمم، الإسلام والدولة، جوهر الحياة،.. وغيرها.
