عاشت روز أنطون (1882- 1955) في ظلال عملاقي فكر وصحافة هما شقيقها فرح أنطون وزوجها نقولا الحداد، فضاعت عطاءاتها وتناستها الدراسات الصحافية والأدبية، وذابت شخصيتها في خضم الإهتمام بما أنتجه فرح ونقولا على حساب ما قدمته هي نفسها في حقل الصحافة التي مارستها عملياً منذ العام 1903 عندما ساعدها شقيقها على أنشاء مجلة "السيدات والبنات" في الإسكندرية، وأعانها في تحريرها لمدة سنين.
وقد استمرت هذه الظلال في التعتيم عليها حتى يومنا هذا، على الرغم من توسع الأبحاث التي أزالت كثيراً من الستائر عن دور المرأة في النهضة الأدبية والإجتماعية والفكرية في النصف الأول من القرن الماضي.
ولعل روز، بسبب شهرة أخيها وزوجها، كانت الأكثر عرضة لظلم مؤرخي الصحافة والأدب... إلى حد ان كتاباً موسوعياً بعنوان "قضية المرأة" الصادر في ثلاثة أجزاء(تحرير وتقديم محمد كامل الخطيب) لم يتضمن أي مقال لها على الإطلاق.
