أتحمّل وزر هذه اللامبالاة المقصودة التي تتجاوز عن ذكر التفاصيل والجزئيات .
بدَل المعاينة الحثيثة ، اتفضل الإنقطاع والتنازل . لذلك ، كان يكفيني – لأحقق ذلك – أن أتذكر عدد الأحلام والرؤى ، التي تركاها حبيسة الأوراق .
كلّ النّهم الذي يحركني الآن ، هو أن ألزمهما بالتحدث عن الأحلام ، التي خلّفها بورخيس الكاتب ، كما ساباتو الكاتب ، رهينة الورق .
إنه تقاطع صور نافذ الحدق ، هذا الذي حققه هذان الرجلان المدركان جيداً لما تعنيه حرية المونولوغ ، الذي يبقى خالداً ( لأن من معاني الكتابة محادثة الذات لذاتها ، ومعايشة العزلة ! ) ؛ وها هما يقبلان بتقاسم الحديث اليوم ، لبضع لحظات .
ليس بورخيس وساباتو سوى مجموع المؤلفات ، التي دبّجاها ، والريبورتاجات التي خلّفاها ، والحياة التي عاضاها بكافة ألوان طيفها ، وكذا النواقص التي عانيا منها ؛ وهما أيضاً العين والعمى ، وهذه الحوارات كذلك !
