قدم الكاتب الدغيري لكتابه هذا بمقدمة يقول فيها: "حينما لاح مطلع عام 2020 لم يكن له مثيل من السنوات التي قد حطت رحالها بين ثنايا أيامي، فبسطوةِ جائحة "مرض كورونا" وفرضها على العالم أجمع العزلة القسرية التي أضعفت خارطة السفر والترحال، وأوصدت الأبواب وأغلقت الطرقات وقيّدت الرحلات، فبات النص الذي لم يكتب في حينه أشبه بالوقوف على الأطلال؛ فالعين تواقة لتلك المسافات الشاسعة، والدروب المُشعة، والمحطات الأثيرية، وأضحى النص متنفساً يسمو بتوهج روح الكتابة عن مشاهداتي وارتحالي بين ملامح الدول التي زرتها؛ فهي من تتكفل بسمو اللغة وتتفرد في أن تستلهم أحرفي وكلماتي مضامينها، ففاض قلمي بكتابة هذا الكتاب الذي أسميته "دولٌ لا يزورها الغرباء". فما من شيء يُعادل فكرة أن تضيء بعيداً عن الحشد في ركن دافئ ورقيق سوى الكتابة عن نص يخص تلك الدول ولم يُكتب في حينه، ولكن ظل شريط ذكرياتي معها مثل النسيم الذي يمرني كلما يممت وجهتي لتلك الدول التي قمت بزيارتها، واستعمرتني بطيفها وسكنتني وسكنتها بأحاسيسها ونسيمها، وتدفقت بين محابر قلمي وانسابت مجرياتها بين مشاعر مجتزأة وأفكار مبتورة وأحاسيس حانية لتلك اللحظات التي أججت حنيني إليها منذ أن عانق ظلي ظلالها، وحطت رحالي ركابها، فغمرتني لسرد ذكرياتي عنها بكل تفاصيلها حتى فاحت منها أزيز الأشواق نحو مرافئها الخالدة بين أروقة أسفاري.
