بعد عقود من المعاناة والنضال السري والعلني وصل قطار الجماعة إلى محطة التمكين التي بشر بها المؤسس الراحل الشيخ حسن البنا، ولعل مؤسس جماعة الإخوان المسلمين كان موفقًا إلى أبعد مدى عندما قال لأتباعه أن التمكين الذي تسعى له الجماعة لن يكون قريب المنال بل لن تراه الأجيال التي أسست للجماعة في مصر، وفي ذلك يقول المؤسس في رسالة لأتباعه: (أيها الإخوان المسلمون وبخاصة المتحمسون المتعجلون منكم- اسمعوا مني كلمة داوية.. إن طريقكم هذا مرسومة خطواته، موضوعة حدوده ولست مخالفًا هذه الحدود التي اقتنعت كل الاقتناع بأنها أسلم طريق للوصول.. أجل قد تكون طريقًا طويلة ولكن ليس هناك غيرها.. إنما تظهر الرجولة بالصبر والمثابرة والجد والعمل الراتب، فمن أراد منكم أن يستعجل ثمرة قبل نضجها، أو يقطف زهرة قبل أوانها، فلست معه في ذلك بحال، وخير له أن ينصرف عن هذه الدعوة إلى غيرها من الدعوات، ومن صابر معي حتى تنمو البذرة، وتنبت الشجرة وتصلح الثمرة، ويحين القطاف فأجره في ذلك على الله ولن يفوتنا وإياه أجر المحسنين: إما النصر والسيادة وإما الشهادة والسعادة).
