عمل معيدًا بقسم النقد والبلاغة والأدب المقارَن بكلّية الدراسات العربية والإسلامية، جامعة القاهرة، فرع الفيوم، منذ عام 1990م؛ ثم ترك العمل الأكاديمي منذ سنوات ليتفرغ للكتابة..
