تعتبر اللغة الإنجليزية من اللغات الأكثر إنتشاراً في العالم، فهي اللغة الأولى لبريطانيا وأمريكا وأستراليا ونيوزيلندا وإيرلندا، وهي كذلك اللغة الثانية لغالبية دول العالم، وهنا يعني أنك إذا كنت تتحدث اللغة الإنجليزية فإنك ستجد من يفهمك أينما كنت في أي دولة في العالم وتكاد لا تخلو دولة عربية من قناة تليفزيونية أو محطة إذاعية أو صحيفة باللغة الإنجليزية، فنحن دائماً ما نعبر عن أفكارنا ومشاعرنا في الحديث بلغة سهلة ولا نلتفت للكلمات والعبارات التي تستخدم في المحادثة اليومية، ولواقف المحادثة في اللغة الإنجليزية أهميتها، لذا لابد حفظ من معرفة تلك الكلمات والعبارات التي تتكرر في اللغة بشكل دائم ويومي، فكل ما عليك فعلة هو أن تطبق ما تعلمته في حياتك وتعاملاتك اليومية بقدر المستطاع، كما عليك أن لا تخاف من ارتكاب الأخطاء سواء أكانت تلك الأخطاء في النطق أو في الكتابة، فمن الطبيعي أن ترتكب أخطاء لتكتشف بنفسك نقاط الضعف في اللغة وتكتشف قدر اكتسابك لها.
لذلك فلقد حرصت معظم الدول على تعليم اللغة الإنجليزية لطلابها بل وأنفقت المبالغ الطائلة لتوفير أحدث الطرق لتعليم هذه اللغة، رغم هذا فلا زال الكثير لم يبلغ الغاية المرجوه من تعلم هذه اللغة إذ يكاد القليل من خريجي الجامعات أن يعبر عما يريد، من أجل هذا حاولنا إثراء المكتبة العربية بكتاب محادثة مبني على مواقف وحوارات الحياة اليومية بما يتضمنه من شتى مواقف الحياة اليومية وما ينبغي أن يقال في كل موقف حسب ما تقضتيه الحاجة والردود المناسبة، كما أددرج الكتاب أسئلة متنوعة مع إجابات نموذجية يستفاد منها طلاب المراحل التعليمية المختلفة.
