إن موضوع اليقين موضوع حساس جداً لعلاقته بمختلف جوانب حياتنا، ولما له من خطورة اهتم به العلماء بناء وتحصيلاً.
ومن المعلوم أن النظر الصحيح يؤدي إلى اليقين، والدليل على أن النظر يوصل للعلم - وهو طريق الحقائق - فزع العقلاء إليه إذا التبس عليهم حكم شيء من الغائبات.
وبالجملة؛ فالناس من عهد آدم عليه السلام إلى منقرض العالم إذا نزلت بهم نازلة يرجعون إلى النظر والفكر، سواء كان في أمر الدين أو الدنيا، بيد أن الإنسان مع فكره ونظره يحتاج إلى نور الله تعالى، فاليقين ليس مقصوراً على الأدلة المنطقية، والبراهين العقلية فقط، وبهذا تتكون العقيدة التي تربي الضمائر.
وفي هذا البحث يسلط المؤلف الضوء على وسائل تحصيل اليقين، ثم ربط هذا اليقين بالسلوكيات اليومية لنلمس التغيير الذي يحدثه اليقين في نفوسنا ونفوس من حوالينا، وكذلك لنخرج من الإنفصام بين ما نؤمن به عقلاً وبين ما نمارسه فعلاً، فاليقين يجعل الفعل أثراً من آثاره، فتكون للإنسان شخصية واحدة ظاهرها كباطنها وباطنها كظاهرها كما أن مهمة هذا البحث هي تفعيل هذا اليقين وربطه بالمشاعر والأحاسيس التي هي بالتالي لها سلطان على السلوك والممارسات اليومية.
