إنّ تطور التربية وتاريخها الطويل لا نهاية له، يتعدى الكتب والمجلدات، فقد بدأت العملية التربوية مع بدء الحياة الإنسانية على هذه البسيطة وما قصص آدم وحواء، وقابيل وهابيل والأنبياء والرسل وما فيها من عظات وتوجيهات إلا عملية معبّرة عن السلوك الإنساني التربوي.
لقد أصبحت العملية التربوية اليوم من العمليات المعقدة، التي تتطلب جهداً كبيراً، لأن غايتها وهدفها الأساسي هو الإنسان، وأن تنمية قدراته ومهاراته تعدّ عاملاً مهماً في تطوير الحضارة الإنسانية، ومن هنا فإن عملية التربية والتعليم الناجحة ينبغي أن تهتم بالفرد والمجتمع، وبما يتناسب مع أهدافه وتطلعاته.
وهكذا صارت التربية ودراستها وتطبيقها بشكل سليم، حاجة ملحة وضرورية في جوانب الحياة المختلفة كافة، كما أن حاجة الطلبة الدارسين والباحثين للبحث في هذا المجال أمر لا يمكن تجاهله أو الإستغناء عنه، وبوساطة هذا التوجه جاء هذا الجهد المتواضع في إعداد هذا الكتاب من قبل المؤلفين لعله يكون عوناً وهادياً للمعنيين في عملية التربية والتعليم.
