كافح الشباب كفاحًا بطوليًا.. وكنت الليل بطوله أتابع.. وكان قلبي يرتجف وأنا أستبشر بدعاء الرسول "صلى الله عليه وسلم" في بدر فأنحو نحوه: "اللهم هذا مبارك وحاشيته وعصابته قد أقبلت بخيلائها وفخرها تحادك وتكذب رسولك, اللهم نصرك الذي وعدتنا اللهم احنهم (أهلكهم) الغداة".. "اللهم هذ مبارك وحاشيته وعصابته قد أقبلوا بغبائهم وجهلهم وبطشهم وقسوتهم, فاللهم نصرك الذي وعدتنا اللهم احنهم (أهلكهم) الغداة".. "اللهم هذا أبو جهل وأبو لهب وجنودهما قد جاؤونا بخليهم وبغالهم وإبلهم وهم شر منها فاللهم اكفناهم بما شئت حيث شئت"..
