يحتوي هذا الكتاب الذي بين أيدينا على كتابين الأول جاء بعنوان معادن الجواهر في فضل الذكر والذاكر للإمام "أحمد بن إسماعيل الحموي" الشهير "بابن الرسام" وفيه يتحدث المصنف عن أهمية الذكر، وفضله العظيم، وعن فضل الاستغفار والتوبة، وغير ذلك، ولكن همه الأكبر كان فضل الذكر والذاكرين.
والكتاب بما جمع بين طياته مليء بالفوائد المهمة والمواعظ الجليلة عن الصحابية رضي الله عنهم وعن التابعين. وهو مرتب على ثلاثة أبواب: الباب الأول: في الآيات الشريفة الواردة في الكتاب بذلك. الباب الثاني: في الأخبار والأوعاظ واللطائف. الباب الثالث: في الفوائد وفي مائة فائدة.
أما الكتاب الثاني فهو كتاب "إفادة الخبر بنصه في زيادة العمر ونقصه" وهو من تصنيف العلامة جلال الدين السيوطي وفيه يتحدث المصنف عن موضوع صلة الأرحام، وبرّ الوالدين، ولما كان موضوعا الكتابين الذي يحويهما هذا المصنف من الموضوعات الهامة التي يحتاج إلى مطالعتهما كل مسلم ومسلمة لذلك عني المحققان "مسعود السعدي" و"محمد إسماعيل" بتحقيق مادة النص، أما عملها في التحقيق فيتجلى بـ: أولاً: ضبط النص، ثانياً: تخريج الآيات الكريمة والأحاديث النبوية الشريفة، ثالثاً: تدوين فهارس عامة لموضوعات الكتابين، رابعاً: تقديم الكتاب الثاني (إفادة الخبر بنصه في زيادة العمر ونقصه)، بمقدمة هامة جمع فيها فصول في غاية الأهمية وهي: معنى البر والصلة في اللغة، الترغيب في البر والصلة، والترهيب من العقوق والقطع، فصل في دراسة وتحقيق الأحاديث الواردة في زيادة العمر بالبر والصلة، مسألة زيادة العمر وصلتها بالعقيدة، شواهد زيادة العمر، موقف العلماء من زيادة العمر ونقصه، دفع التعارض بين الآية ومضمون الأحاديث، الكتب المصنفة في البر والصلة وزيادة العمر.
