وتكمن أهمية هذه الدراسة في تتبع مستويات العلاقة بين الإسلام والحكم الديمقراطي، وتطوّر الممارسة الديمقراطية في البلدان السبعة وكيف نجحت أو أخفقت فيها القوى الإسلامية والعلمانية والليبرالية في إنجاح الإنتقال الديمقراطي في ضوء العوامل الداخلية والخارجية المحيطة بتجاربها.
