بدا له أن كل ما في الصباح باعث للقلق. تراخى ذلك القلب بين الضلوع، وشعر بغثيان شديد. كان كل شيء يفوق توقعاته التي لم تكتمل. هذا هو الصباح، خشنُ الملمس،مرهونٌ بالأحداث، مُكبلٌ بما يكفيه من الألم. صعد السلم بقدر ما تتيح له ركبتاه، أسدل الستائر، دخل الصباح من أربع نوافذ، حيث يعلم أن تلك النوافذ لا تكفي، وجودهاقلقٌ للغاية، عجزت أن أقصد نافذة، وعندما أقترب أجدها سراباً، ولا أثر لتلك النوافذ. فسأمتُ من أيام لا تمضي، وعقارب بطيئة ومثقلة، وخطوات مملة ورتيبة، حيث سنبقىراكدين في الظلام.
