يبين الكتاب أركان الإسلام الخمسة, بطريقة يسهل حفظها على من أراد ذلك, فنظمها شعراً سهلاً, ثم شرحها وبين المراد منها, وتعليم أحكام الشرائع وشرائع الأحكام. خصوصاً معرفة الشهادتين والصلاة والزكاة والحج والصيام, وما لذلك من الشرائط وغيرها من الأنواع والأقسام. وكان من أهم ما تناوله الكتاب من موضوعات: فصل في مقتضى الشهادتين, الإلهيات, العرض, الوحدانية, القدم- البقاء, ستر العورة, النية, التكبيرة, أركان الصلاة, مكروهات الصلاة, إيتاء الزكاة, نصاب الذهب والفضة, شرط زكاة الإبل والغنم والبقر, حكم المعلوفة والعاملة, فصل في صوم رمضان, شروط صحة الصوم, هلال الفطر, اختلاف المطالع, ما يفسد الصوم بلا كفارة, حكم صوم العيدين, فصل في الحج, فرائض الحج, أنواع الحج, العمرة وحكمها, الجنايات.
النابلسي: هو أبو الفيض عبد الغني بن إسماعيل بن عبد الغني بن إسماعيل بن أحمد النابلسي, الدمشقي الحنفي. ولد بدمشق في منتصف ذي الحجة, سنة خمسين وألف منتصف القرن الحادي عشر, نشأ وطلب العلم, واشتغل بالتدريس والفتوى ولم يتجاوز العشرين من عمره, وبعد ثلاث وتسعين سنة, وفي عصر يوم الأحد في الرابع والعشرين من شعبان, سنة1143 للهجرة انتقل الى رحمة ربه وجواره.
