هذا الكتاب هو مجموعة رسالة دكتوراة في الفقه المقارن جاءت تحت عنوان "إبن تيمية واختياراته الفقهية في الجنايات والحدود" للباحث الدكتور: عبد الرحمن بن عبد الله بن صالح الدباسي.
يتركز الحديث في هذا الكتاب على إختيارات شيخ الإسلام في "الجنايات والحدود" من خلال اختيار الباحث للكتب الفقهية التي تركها السلف الصالح من العلماء، الذين أخاضوا في هذا المجال، مع ذكر الخلاف بين المذاهب الأربعة، وربما أورد قول الظاهرية أيضاً يقول "الدباسي": بعد أن أذكر أقوال العلماء في المسألة الخلافية أورد بعد ذلك إختيار شيخ الإسلام في تلك المسألة ثم أورد الأدلة لكل مذهب وأبيَن وجه الإستدلال مع كل دليل مع التوجيه ثم بعد ذلك إختار القول الراجح في نظري مع الرد على أدلة أصحاب الأقوال الأخرى وقد رجحت دائماً ما قويت عندي حجته وظهر لي دليله من الكتاب والسنة والإجماع والقياس والمذاهب والمعقول. دون أن تحيز لرأي أو مذهب أو طائفة. فلم أتعصب لأي مذهب من المذاهب وإنما سرت مع الحق أينما سارت ركائبه..."
جاء الكتاب في أربع مجلدات تضمن أربعة أجزاء توزعت على العناوين الآتية:
الجزء الأول: حياة شيخ الإسلام ابن تيمية.
الجزء الثاني: منهج إبن تيمية في استنباط الأحكام الشرعية.
الجزء الثالث: إختيارات شيخ الإسلام في الجنايات وأحكامها.
الجزء الرابع: اختيارات شيخ الإسلام في الحدود.
وأخيراً خاتمة ونتائج البحث.
