يكتسب جمع تراث أهل البيت، ولا سيما في بيان، وفهم، وتدبُّر معاني القرآن الكريم، وحدوده، وأحكامه، وناسخه ومنسوخه، وأسباب نزوله، ومتشابهه ومحكمه، قيمة فكريّة وعلميّة، يقف عليها المؤمن المسلم، ويعمل بها في حياته الدُّنيوية، لتكون زاد سفره في حياته الأخرويّة، والكلُّ يعلم حياة أمير المؤمنين في سكنه وترحاله أنَّه قَضاها في حياة رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فكان ملازماً له. ومتعلَّماً على يديه بما يُنَزَّل عليه من الوحي، فجاءت رواياته وأقواله ممتلئة فقهاً وعلماً، عَلَّمه إيَّاها رسول الله، وورثها أبناؤه، وقد وصلت إلينا من طرق شتى، عن أبنائه، وعن أصحابه، وعن مخالفيه، لتشكل في مجموعها قيمة علمية يستفاد منها في الحياة.
في هذا الكتاب جمع الدكتور علاء الدين هاشم الخفاجيّ النصوص المروية عن الإمام عليِّ بن أبي طالب عليه السلام وصنفها تحت عنوان "جامع مرويات أمير المؤمنين عليِّ بن أبي طالب وأقواله في تفسير القرآن الكريم" ليشكل الكتاب إضافة علمية مهمة إلى المكتبة العربية والإسلامية يتعرف من خلالها الإنسان المسلم تفسير الإمام عليِّ رضي الله عنه للقرآن الكريم. وخاصة أن المصنف عاد إلى المرويات والأقوال، من بداية القرن الثاني مِن الهجرة، والقرون التي تليه، مثل كتاب "الكشف والبيان عن تفسير القرآن لأبي إسحاق الثعلبيّ" (ت 427ه) وكتاب "الغالب في الكثرة الدُّرُّ المنثور لجلال الدين السّيوطي" (ت 911ه) وغيرها من مصادر معتبرة.
وعليه توزع الكتاب على أربع مجلدات/ أجزاء احتوت على تفسير الإمام عليِّ رضي الله عنه للقرآن الكريم تبدأ بتفسير سورة الفاتحة وتنتهي بتفسير سورة الفلق.
