الحياةُ الاجتماعية في متصرفيّة بيت المقدس في ضوء الوثائق العثمانية 1874 – 1917م دراسةٌ تاريخية تحليلية .
لدراسةِ الموضوع أهميةٌ من عدّة جوانب: قلّة الدراسات حولَ الفترة الزمنية التي يدرسها الباحث ، وعدم وجود مصادر ومراجع تتحدث عنها ؛ جعلَ الباحثَ يلجأ إلى الوثائق التاريخية التي لم تكتبْ في الأصل لأغراض تاريخية كسجلات المحكمة الشرعية, التي سوف تساهم في حل هذه الإشكالية .
كذلك أنّها تعالج فترةً زمنية حرجة في تاريخ المدينة منذُ صدور قانون الولايات والإصلاحات العثمانية مرورًا بمؤتمر بال , وبدْء ظهور الأطماع اليهودية في فلسطين حيث حاول اليهودُ الادّعاء بأن بيت المقدس مدينةٌ يهودية منذ القدم , ومن أجل ذلك حالوا تغييرَ الواقع الديموغرافي للمدينة والجغرافي وتزييف الحقائق التاريخية مِن أجل إثبات حقّهم في المدينة .
ومن خلال هذه الدراسة سنبين حقيقة هذه الادّعاءات عبرَ معرفة التاريخ الحقيقي للمدينة من خلال الرجوع إلى الوثائق العثمانية .
كما توفّر المصادر الأولية من سجلّات المحكمة الشرعية وسجلات البلدية وسالنامات الدولة العثمانية. وتبين الدّور المهمّ الذي لعبته بيت المقدس في التاريخ الفلسطيني الحديث, والذي أسهم في الحفاظ على الأرضِ والإنسان .
