وجيه غالي (1930 - 1969) كاتب مصري، له رواية وحيدة هي بيرة في نادي البلياردو والتي كتبها أثناء إقامته في أوائل الستينيات بين برلين ولندن، ترك غالي بلده مصر في أوائل الستينيات وسافر إلى أوروبا ليعمل في وظائف غير مستقرة، منها عامل في مصانع ببرلين وعدد من الوظائف الأخرى، وهي الفترة التي بدأ فيها بكتابة روايته الأولى والوحيدة، كما عمل كمراسل صحفي وكتب تحقيقات لمجلة صنداي تايمز بناء على زيارته لإسرائيل في الستينيات، انتحر وجيه غالي في شقة الكاتبة الإنجليزية ديانا آتهيل عام 1969.
حياته
وُلد وجيه غالي وعاش بالقاهرة، لا أحد يعرف على وجه الدقة أية معلومات بشأن القسم الأول من حياة وجيه غالي، والبعض يشك في أن هذا اسمه المستعار، تاريخ ميلاده غير معروف ولكن تاريخ الوفاة مؤكد بواسطة الكاتبة الإنجليزية ديانا آتهيل، وأغلب الظن أن رواية بيرة في نادي البلياردو هي سيرة شبه ذاتية لوجيه غالي. حيث يشترك وجيه غالي مع البطل "رام" في أن كلاهما مصري كاثوليكي بثقافة إنجليزية وفرانكوفونية، ينحدر من عائلة أرستقراطية سابقة، فقدت أملاكها بعد ثورة يوليو. كما أن لوجيه غالي ميول يسارية واضحة، ولا يُعرف حقيقة إن كان قد انتمى إلى الحزب الشيوعي المصري في أيامه، لكن بطل الرواية "رام" كان كذلك. وربما أهم الأحداث في حياة وجيه غالي هي زيارته لإسرائيل في الستينيات كمراسل صحفي، والتي جلبت عليه الكثير من الانتقاد والجدل. أمضى وجيه غالي الفترة الأخيرة من حياته مقيماً بشقة الكاتبة الإنجليزية ديانا آتهيل، بحسب ديانا آتهيل لم يهتم غالي بالبحث عن عمل، كان يعتمد عليها مادياً ومر في نهاية حياته باكتئاب حاد، وكان يكثر من معاقرة الخمر، بحسب كتاب ديانا آتهيل عن علاقتهما، "بعد الجنازة"، أمضى وجيه غالي آخر يوم من حياته يعاقر الخمر مع صديق، دون أن يبدو عليه أنه في حالة نفسية مضطربة، حين تركه الصديق في شقة آتهيل الخالية، انتحر، وقد علّق غالي ورقة على باب الشقة موجهة لآتهيل: "ديانا، لا تدخلي، اتّصلي بالشرطة فوراً"، ترك غالي رسالة خلفه مكتوب بها: " أظن أن الانتحار هو الشيء الأصيل الوحيد الذي فعلته في حياتي."
أعماله
لوجيه غالي رواية وحيدة هي بيرة في نادي البلياردو والتي نُشرتْ عام 1964 عن دار بينجوين الإنجليزية. ولا توجد معلومات حول إذا ما كان هنالك أي إنتاج أدبي آخر لوجيه غالي. وعادة ما يشار إليه كأول كاتب مصري تكون له مطبوعات بينجوين.
