ضربتْ الدعوة الإسماعيلية أروع الامثلة في الرقي، والتحضر، والمنهجية، من خلال ما تركته من تراث إنساني كبير في مجالات مختلفة شهد لها بذلك خصومها ومؤيديها على حد سواء أحياناً، وكان للفكر الإسماعيلي دور كبير في رفد المكتبة العربية والإسلامية بشتى المعارف والعلوم لا سيما الفلسفية والتي ساهمت في رقي الإنسان وسموه.
فالإسماعيلية كما يقول هنري كوربان "تنتشلك من العالم الجسماني / المادي إلى العالم الروحاني" ويقول علينقي منزوي "إنَّ من الحق أن يُعد تاريخ الأدب الإسماعيلي قسم من تاريخ الفلسفة الإسلامية، لأنَّه مشحون بآراء فلسفية جريئة، يقل مثلها في سائر المذاهب الإسلامية، وحتى الفرق الشيعية منها"، وقد توسع الإسماعيليون في الفكر اليوناني مما جعلهم في مرمى سهام المؤرخين والفقهاء.
ونحن هنا بصدد تحقيق هذا الرائعة الأدبية والفلسفية الموسومة بــ (الرِّسَالِة المُفيدَة في إيضاح مُلغِز القَصيدة) للداعي الإسماعيلي علي بن محمد بن الوليد الأنف نكشف عن هذا الجانب.
وقد اعتمدنا في تحقيق هذا الكتاب على نسختين، الأولى: مخطوطة إسماعيلية سليمانية وأشرنا إليها بالحرف (أ)، أما النسخة الثانية: فهي مخطوطة إسماعيلية داؤدية، وقد أشرنا إليها في الحواشي بالحرف (ب).
