إن أسباباً متعددة كانت تشير إلى قيام مثل هذه الدراسة منها: أولاً: تلك العلاقة الحميمة بين النحو وعلم المعاني؛ إذ أبرز باحثون محدثون تلك العلاقة خير إبراز مما اقتطفوه من ثمار نحو الخليل وسيبويه والفراء والمبرد وابن قتيبة وابن جني وغيرهم، وتكفل تمهيد هذه الدراسة البحث في ذلك، إلا أن الشيء المهم هنا ترصين ما توصل إليه البحث النحوي الحديث في تلك العلاقة، عن طريق إبراز جهد الشرّاح النحوي في مادة علم المعاني من شروحهم التي تناولوا فيها تلخيص مفتاح العلوم، إذ أكد البحث في جهدهم النحوي تأكيداً لا لبس فيه العلاقة بين النحو وعلم المعاني.
ثانياً: حاجة المكتبة اللغوية العربية إلى دراسة تهتم بالنحو عند البلاغيين، إذ لم يتوافر من ذلك إلا إشارات مجملة وتقويمات موجزة وجدناها في ضمن البحث النحوي عند الأصوليين لم تكن قائمة على إستقراء تام وما وجد من إشارات في كتاب (النقد) لشوقي ضيف يشير فيها إلى وجود جهد نحوي في هذه الشروح وكذلك اكد هذه المسألة الدكتور أحمد مطلوب في كتابه (القزويني وشروح التلخيص)، فرحت باحثاً في هذه الشروح فوجدت جهداً نحوياً يستحق المتابعة والدراسة والتحليل والتبويب؛ لذا كانت هذه الدراسة التي جاءت بتمهيد وبابين: تحدث التمهيد في العلاقة بين النحو وعلم المعاني، فقد كان مدخلاً للموضوع المدروس، أثبت العلاقة من طرف عكسي، إذ بعدما أكدت كل الدراسات وجود علم المعاني في ضمن الدرس النحوي القديم، تحاول هذه الدراسة إثبات وجود درس نحوي في ضمن علم المعاني.
