بعد صدور كتابنا (صلاة المسافر) بكلا جزئيه، - الذي هو تقرير بحث شيخنا الأستاذ سماحة آية الله العظمى الشيخ محمد إسحاق الفياض، طلب منا بعض الأخوة الكرام أن نستل منه بحث التخيير بين القصر والتمام في المواطن الأربعة لكثرة الإبتلاء في هذا الموضع وكثرة الحاجة إليه، خصوصاً مع ما استجد من عمارة في هذه المواطن، ووقوع الخلاف بين الفقهاء في تحديد موضع التخيير ودورانه بين المسجد أو المدينة، والمدينة بين القديم منها والجديد، وكذا المساجد فقد وقع الخلاف بين كون مقتضى الروايات الإقتصار على القديم منها أو يمكن التعدي منه إلى المستجد.
