يمثل البحث الدلالي ومحاولة الظفر بالدلالة اللسانية قطب الرحى الذي تدور حوله الألسنية بجميع مبادئها وإجراءاتها وعلى تفاوت من مشارب الدارسين وقدد طرائقهم فيها.
فاللسانيات التي تعد ملكاً مشاعاً وقسمة مشتركة بين اللغة والأدب تركز على نوعين من الأدلة: الدلالة الأساسية والدلالة الثانوية (الدلالة المباشرة والدلالة غير المباشرة) وتتمخض عن الثانية أنماط من الدلالات منها المنطقية والنفسية والعقلية والتاريخية والفقهية... وكل ذلك يدرك من السياق والموقف الكلامي.
والخطاب القرآني خطاب كامل متكامل، تام لغته ومطلق دلالته، وإدراكاً لهذه الحقيقة ومن منطلق الإنبهار بهذا الخطاب الإلهي وبعظمة سورة التوبة المباركة التي لها وقع خاص على كل نفس، والتي توجه خطاباتها وعلى شاكلة نظيراتها من السور القرآنية بأسلوب فني معجز ولغة آسرة موقظة للفكر والوجدان.
وفي هدي الدلالة الأساسية والدلالة الثانوية، ونظراً لما تتمتع به الكلمة والعبارة القرآنية من ثنائيتي إقناع العقل إمتاع العاطفة وإثارتها، وفي هديتين الدلالتين أي (الدلالة المباشرة والدلالة غير المباشرة)، انبثقت فكرة الدراسة وموضوعها التي اتخذت من المعطيات اللسانية أساساً وقاعدة تنطلق منها لرصد البني الصوتية والصرفية والتركيبية وما لها من وظائف دلالية وقيم تعبيرية، مستعينة بكتب التفسير وعلوم القرآن الكريم لتعضيد متنها وإثراء جعبتها، لتصل إلى أنّ الأنظمة اللغوية برمتها تتعاضد وتتكاتف لأجل بناء الإطار الدلالي والجمالي لخطابات السورة وتأسيسها، بحيث تغدو كلاً متكاملاً، ووحدة نصية متماسكة، تعكس بذلك وحدة موضوعات السورة، يعانق فيها الشكل المضمون، فكل وحدة من وحداتها الصوتية، والصرفية، والتركيبية والأسلوبية والدلالية تأتي متكاتفة، آخذة بعضها بعضد بعضها، وشادّة بعضها أزر بعض لأجل تكوين وخلق لغة إبداعية فنية معجزة ذات جمال، وجلال وبهاء نابضة بإيحاءات تغدق على المتلقي (قارئاً كان أو سامعاً) من فيوض إيحاءاتها، وتقدم بجانب دلالتها المباشرة حزماً دلالية، وتمده بالقدرة على إيجاد ضالته المنشودة، وأولاها الأريحة النفسية.
