ولأهميته اعتمد في تحقيقه أسامة عطايا على النسخة المصرية المطبوعة في مطبعة مصطفى البابي الحلبي التي طبعت الكتاب في عهد مؤلفه سنة 1955. ولكن عمله في الكتاب وفق ما يلي:
وضع هذا الكتاب على هامش المصحف الشريف، وذلك بتقسيمه على الصفحات حسب ما تحتويه كل صحيفة من قراءات.
أصلح ما وجد من أخطاء في هذا الكتاب على تنوعها.
عزا النقول التي استشهد بها المؤلف إلى أمكنتها وأثبت ذلك في الحاشية.
قام بتوجيه بعض القراءات التي أساء إليها بعض المنحرفين أو الملاحدة نحويا وصرفيا وتفسيريا بالرجوع إلى مظان هذا العلم.
وضع الألفاظ القرآنية بخط مصحف القراء المعروف اليوم، ووضع إلى جانب كل آية رقمها، وفصل بين كل ربع وآخر بعلامة خاصة.
