"وسيلة المتفقهين" كتاب في علم الفقه يتضمن توضيحاً لمنهج الإستنباط، وتعريفات للمصطلحات، من أصولية أو فقهية أو فكرية أو جغرافية ذات علاقة بالفقه، فضلاً عن ضمّه اللفظ القانوني، مع بيان للقواعد والأصول، وهو بذلك يكون جامعاً لأمهات الأدلة، المتدرجة بحسب أوليتها في الإستنباط، مع فهرس للكتب. كل ذلك باختصار وبتقسيم واضح، وبأسلوب مبسط، حيوي شيّق، لم ينقطع عن القديم، ولم يجمد عليه، فجاء كتاباً تراثياً معاصراً في آن واحد، وقد اختصر عدة كتب في كتاب واحد.
يساعد هذا الكتاب طالب العلم والباحث في مجال الفقه في ترتيب الأدلة والأصول بحسب أوليّة بعضها على بعض، فمثلاً عندما يبحث في مسألة اشتراط تقدم الإمام على المأموم نقول: هذا شك في الشرط، وعند الشك في أي شرط أو جزء أو مانع في أية عبادة تتم المعالجة – وفقاً للمؤلف – على الشكل التالي: نبحث عن إمارة معتبرة من غير الأصول اللفظية، فإن لم نجد نبحث عن أصل لفظي، فإن لم نجد نبحث عن أصل عملي ..." إلى آخر من خطوات يتيح التعرّف إليها هذا الكتاب في تطبيقه الأصول على الفقه ووفقاً للقاعدة الأصولية ذات الإرتباط بالمسألة الفقهية المبحوثة لدينا ...
إلى ذلك يتضمن الكتاب كثيراً من مستحدثات المسائل خصوصاً في المعاملات، ويستند إلى حدّ كبير في ذكر مصدر الحديث على كتاب "وسائل الشيعة" للحرّ العاملي مع ذكر الكتب الأخرى، كذلك يشتمل الكتاب على فهرست خاص بالقواعد وتعريف بالمصطلحات والمفردات الواردة في الكتاب وهي ذات فائدة مهمة للطالب حيث يراجعها عند إرادة معرفة أية قاعدة، كما يذكر الكتاب "المرادف أو المساوق في القانون الوضعي" لكي يسهل على الطالب التعرّف على القانون الوضعي وتعريف الوضعيين بالفقه، في أبحاثهم في هذا الحقل، مع تنويه المؤلف أنه لا بدّ لفهم هذا الكتاب من أن يطلع القارىء على مسائل علم الأصول، أو أنه قد مرّ على دورة فقهية في حياته العلمية.
