يتحدث هذا الكتاب عن ست مؤسسات استثنائية نجحت في تطبيق هذه المعايير وهي: كلية مونفورت لعلوم إدارة الأعمال، وجامعة كولورادو الشمالية، والجامعة الوطنية، وجامعة نيومكسيكو-كارلسباد الحكومية، وجامعة نورثويست ميسوري الحكومية، وجامعة وسكونسن-ستاوت، ومعهد ويسترن وسكونسن للعلوم التقنية. كانت جامعة وسكونسن-ستاوت أول مؤسسة للتعليم العالي تنال جائزة بالدريدج وذلك عام 2001م، وقد عملت منذ ذلك الحين مع مؤسسات تعليمية في تسع وثلاثين ولاية وخمسة وعشرين بلداً من المهتمين في تطبيق تحسينات نوعية من خلال اعتماد معايير بالدريدج.
