هذا كتاب (الأدب المفرد) للإمام البخاري، وهو يتناول ناحية الخلق الإنساني في نظام الإسلام، وهذه الناحية –بعد تصحيح التوحيد- أوثق نواحي هذا النظام، لأنها تعين على إخلاص النيات والسرائر، والنيات معيار الأعمال التي تصدر عنها ويقف بها المسلم بين يدى الله سبحانه في حياة الخلود. فما من عمل يتجمل به المسلم في الدنيا إلا والشرط الأول فيه إخلاص النية، وهو روح الأخلاق ومناطها، وهما متلازمان فلا تكون النية نقية خالصة إلا بمكارم الأخلاق، ولا تكون الأخلاق أخلاقاً كريمة إلا بالنية الخالصة.
وكتاب (الأدب المفرد) من تراثنا الثمين الذي منى بالإهمال: في أصوله المخطوطة، وفي العناية بطبعه، فضلاً عن التقصير في خدمته بالشرح والتخريج والتحقيق، وقد تحدث عن ذلك العلامة فضل الله الكيلاني في مقدمة شرحه.
والكتاب طبع في الهند مرة، وفي القسطنطينية مرتين، ثم طبع في القاهرة، وفي سنة 1375 قامت دار البشائر بطبعه وتولى ترقيمه وتخريج أحاديثه –دون آثاره- من الكتب الستة الأستاذ محمد فؤاد عبد الباقي، ولما استطاعت الدار الحصول على شرح السيد فضل الله الكيلاني اقتبست منه زوائد التخريج فأضافتها إلى ما كان من طبعتهم السابقة، مع زيادة عناية من الدار بتعيين مراجع التخريج أكثر مما ورد في الشرح.
إن الإمام البخاري قد ضمن صحيحه كتاباً للأدب وهو الكتاب الثامن والسبعون من صحيحه، لكنه لم يكتف بذلك حتى أفرد للأدب كتابا مستقلا سماه: "الأدب المفرد" لأنه قد جعله مقصوراً على موضوع الأدب دون غيره فجاء فريدا في نوعه، جامعا للآداب الإسلامية، فهو بحق موسوعة إسلامية في الآداب، جدير بكل مسلم أن يقتنيها لينتفع بما تحويه من كنوز نبوية شريفة وهذه طبعة مخرجة الأحاديث وعليها حواشي مهمة.
