فرائد الخرائد في الأمثال، وهو كتاب بديع المثال، جامع للحكم والأمثال، كتب على صفحته الأولى: (وهو كتاب عزيز المنال، قليل المثال، جامع نافع، ليس له نظيراً في الأمثال) وهذا القول لم يلق جزافاً أو على عواهنه، ولكنه يصدق مجمع الأمثال حيث سار على طريقته في إيراد الأمثال على حروف المعجم، ثم الأمثال على أفعل، ثم الأمثال المولدة، ثم هو يتفرد بعد ذلك في إيراد الحكم السائرة على حروف المعجم موافقة لأبواب الأمثال، ويليها الأِشعار السائرة أيضاً على حروف المعجم التي تبدأ بالحرف نفسه لباب المثل، وهذا هو الجديد الذي أضافته الخويي، إلى جانب تميزه في الأسلوب والعرض والطريقة.
