- دعي إلى مهمات علمية في الولايات المتحدة وبريطانيا عدة مرات، فترات مختلفة.

يضم هذا الكتاب مجموعة دراسات هى بالفعل تعكس الوعى الاسلامى بأن الجماعة هى الحضين الاساسى للمبادىء والأفكار التى شهدتها الحضارة الاسلامية والبعد الاجتماعى هنا يظهر من خلال راويتين أولاهما: أن المقصد الاساسى للفكر الاسلامى عامة والتربوى خاصة ثانيهما: ان الافكار التربوية التى يقول بها هذا أو ذاك من المفكرين اذا كانت تستند بالمساس الى نصوص قرآنية ونبوية لكن فهمها وتطبيقها وتفسيرها يلعب الظرف المكانى والزمانى دوره الذى من العسير أن ينكره أحد.
أما مجموعة التقاريير الاربعة التى تحتل الجزء الأخير من الكتاب فهى تتضمن حقا تجربة ثرية حيث انتدبت أكثر من مرة لزيارة منشأت تعليمية خاصة بالمسلمين في الولايات الامريكية تقييما أو بناء وتكوينا لمثل هذه المؤسسات وهكذا يجىء البعد الاجتماعى فى كل صفحة من صفحات الكتاب ويجىء الالحاح على أهمية السياقات المجتمعية عند فهم ودراسة الأفكار التربوية سواء عند المسلمين أو غيرهم.
