في كتابه هذا يؤكد سالم الوادعي أن كتاب الله (القرآن الكريم) شفاء أو دواء لكل داء، قال تعالى: "وننزل من القرآن ما هو شفاء ورحمة للمؤمنين ولا يزيد الظالمين إلا خساراً" إنطلاقاً من هذا الإيمان سيعلم القارىء للكتاب أن كتاب الله هو أصل العلاج وأصل التداوي، من هنا نجد المؤلف في عرضه عن التداوي من جهة المعالج بالقرآن والسنة أنه ذكر عدة أمور: " ... تصحيح المفهوم الخاطىء عند كثير من الناس أن القرآن شفاءاً للأمراض الروحية فقط؛ ولذلك فإني أسميت هذه الرسالة : بالنصح والبيان في العلاج بالقرآن، ولم أحدد مرضاً بعينه، وهذا المنهج هو الذي عليه السلف ومن بعدهم، وأيضاً لما نراه من تسميات شائعة في الكتب والأشرطة، فتجد هذا يقول: "العلاج بالقرآن من المس والعين والجان" ، وذاك يقول: "العلاج بالقرآن من السحر والمس وعين الإنسان". وهكذا ... أقول: من أين لهم هذا التفصيل؟ ...".
يعتبر المؤلف أن اعتقاد المسلم أن القرآن يقتصر على المسائل الروحانية والعلاج من المس والسحر اعتقاداً خاطئاً في عقيدة المسلم، وهذا ما بينه في هذه الرسالة المختصرة والميسرة في كيفية أن المريض يستطيع أن يعالج نفسه بنفسه، وكذلك أولاده وأهله، حيث ذكر تفسيراً لكثير من الأمراض الشائعة في وقتنا الحاضر وسبل العلاج وأدواته، مع تذكير القارىء أن بعض الحالات تحتاج إلى تشخيص من قبل المعالج المختص لإعطاء كل حالة ما يناسبها، وختم الرسالة بتحذيرات وتنبيهات هامة.
