إن الإشكالية، التي يعاني منها العقل السليم المعاصر، هي إشكالية ثقافية في الأصل، وأن أية محاولة للنهوض، وتجديد أمر الدين، بعيداً عن إعادة بناء عالم الأفكار، وتنقية الموارد الثقافية، والتحصن بهدايات الوحي ومعاييره، وإطلاق قدرات العقل، سوف تبوء بالفشل. ومن خلال هذا الكتاب يحاول المؤلف تقديم نوع من الاجتهاد الفكري ووجهات نظر وذلك لفتح النوافذ على مجموعة إشكاليات، وقضايا فكرية، تتعدد فيها وجهات النظر، وغايته في ذلك استدعاء هذه القضايا إلى ساحة الاهتمام، وجعلها ملفاً مفتوحاً ومحلاً للحوار، والمناقشة، والتفاكر، والتصويب والتقويم، وصولاً إلى إعادة البناء المعرفي السليم.
وقد جعل المؤلف مجموعة القضايا والإشكاليات التي عرضها تحت عنوان "الشاكلة الثقافية"، كمصطلح قرآني، يعني وجهة الإنسان التي يعمل عليها. والتي تأتي ثمرة للمكونات الفكرية، تلك المكونات التي لو أحسن المسلمون بناءها، والتعامل معها، لأمكنهم تحقيق الميلاد الجديد للإنسان المسلم، الذي يفقه الدين، ويفهم العصر ويكون مؤهلاً بحق للقيام بأمانة وأعباء الاستخلاف الإنساني، في ضوء هداية الوحي، ومجاهدة العقل، ويقدم النموذج يثير الاقتداء ويغري بالاتباع.
بعبارة أخرى تنطلق أن هذه القضايا المطروحة أمام القارئ في هذا الكتاب، تنطلق جميعها، من منطلق الحرص على استعادة الدور الريادي للأمة المسلمة، وتمكينها من الأدوات المعرفية، التي تسمح لها، باستئناف الدور المنوط بها، مستثمرة إمكاناتها الروحية، والذهنية، المادية كلها، في ضوء رؤية ذات دراسة وفقه، تجمع بين معارف الوحي، ومدارك العقل، في محاولة للإقلاع من جديد.
