إن مما ابتليت به الأمة الإسلامية في عصورها الأخيرة حركة الاستشراق المدعومة من دوائر الاستعمار الغربي, هذه الحركة التي سارت جنباً الى جنب مع الحملات التنصيرية في العالم الإسلامي. وقد كان من أهداف هذه الحركات تشكيك المسلمين بدينهم وبث الطعون والشبهات في أحكامه ومبادئه. والدور الأهم الذي اضطلع به المستشرقون في هذا المضمار هو نبش ما استتر من المذاهب الهدامة والآراء الفاسدة, وإحياء الأفكار الدخيلة والأقوال الرديئة المنتنة التي أماتتها الحجج والبراهين الساطعة. وقد استغل المستشرقون بعد المسلمين عن دينهم, وعدم معرفة الكثيرين منهم بأحكامه وحججه وبراهينه وأدلته, فقاموا بإلباس تلك الآراء ثوب العلم والموضوعية فانطلت حيلتهم وأكاذيبهم على كثير من جهلة المسلمين الذين تربوا في مدارس التبشير أو جامعات الاستشراق. لكن الله عز وجل تكفل بحفظ دينه هيأ- لرد هذا العدوان الأثيم وهذه الشبهات الواهية- من يرفع عن العقول غاشية الجهل ويميط عن الأعين لثام الظلام حتى بدا النور لذي عينين. وهذه الرسالة لبنة من تلك اللبنات التي وفقت للدفاع عن الحق وتمييز الصالح من الفاسد في هذه الحلبة.
