إنَّ القرآن الكريم، كلام الله لرسوله صلى الله عليه وسلم ليكون معجزة له على الخلق، يهدي به من يشاء إلى طريق الحق، وإنَّ التمسُّك به مع سنة رسوله صلى الله عليه وسلم مَنجاة من الزلل والخطل.
وقد اهتمَّ العلماء بهذا القرآن الكريم من نواح كثيرة، ونستطيع ان نقسِّم الدراسات حول القرآن الكريم إلى ثلاثة أقسام: أولاً: ما يتعلَّق بلفظه: واهتم بهذا الجانب: (علم القراءات)، ويدخل فيه (التجويد) وغيره، مما يساعد في تقويم اللسان بالنطق به على الصفة الصحيحة، على ما كانت عليه قراءة رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وصحابته رضي الله عنهم أجمعين.
ثانياً: ما يتعلَّق بمعناه: ويمثِّل هذا: (علم التفسير)، بمناهجه المتعددة؛ لأنه يبحث فيه عن الهدي من القرآن الكريم في الدلالة على ما ينفع الناس عاجلاً وآجلاً، وكذا علم (الوقف والإبتداء)، ثالثاً: ما يتعلَّق بشكله الظاهر: ويهتم بهذا: (علم الرسم)، ويدخل معه: (علم عدِّ الآي) أيضاً، وكذا (ضبط المصحف)، فهذه العلوم تهتم بالشكل الظاهري للمصحف.
وقد قسم الكاتب تلك الدراسة إلى جزئين يتضمن الجزء الأول ثلاثة فصول وهي: الفصل الأول: "نبذة موجزة عن سيرة أبي عمرو الداني وآثاره"، الفصل الثاني: "بعض قضايا الرسم دراسة وتحليل"؛ أما الجزء الثاني: الفصل الأول: "مقارنة المقنع مع العقيلة ومختصر التبيين"، الفصل الثاني: "بين يدي التحقيق"، الفصل الثالث: "نص الكتاب المحقق".
